Rhode Island ROX Program: ROX Cohort learns important mental health lessons
A Story About: A high school ROX Cohort from Rhode Island
Submitted by: Lisa Tenreiro, Licensed School Counselor (LSC), ROX Facilitator
Key ROX Program Outcomes: Increased empathy and knowing how to access support systems
Did You Know? 82% of girls reported that ROX increased their confidence in handling difficult life situations.
“I took my ROX girls to a mental health conference at Gillette Stadium. Their biggest lessons learned? You are not alone. It’s okay to not be okay, and mental health is just as important as physical health.
The girls emphasized the importance of talking openly, seeking help without shame and showing empathy because mental health affects everyone differently. I’m so proud of this incredible group of young women.”
